Intelicamoffersa 4-axis high speed foam cutting CNC solution to design files and cut foam for theming and architectural applications. The router has a 2m x 3m process area, 1200mm of Z-axis motion and an integrated rotational axis that can clamp a foam block 1.25msquare in diameter by 2m long. The combination rack and pinion and ball screw servo drive unit can traverse at speeds to 425mm/sec. It comes standard with industry leading CADCAM design software,3D files, special designed foam cutting router bits, automated tool height sensor, chip pickup. Moving parts are protected with baffles protecting against foam particles which will harden over time causing maintenance issues. Intelicam is offering a complete system delivered for US$69,450. Call the experts at Intelicam for further details and delivery times.

Not sure why you would need a CNC router to carve only foam?
Think of theme parks, zoos and museum exhibits and you have a good idea of what theming is, but you’d be surprised to know that theme parks and the like are a small percentage of work done in the theming industry. From the decoration of Irish pubs, movie theatres, displays at the local 7-eleven, hotels, casinos, architectural landmarks, and increasingly its showing up in the family home as crown molding, mantles, door arches, fountains, ponds and more. Theming is everywhere. And what looks like solid granite pillars, sculpted wood cornices, marble arches, moss covered rocks to name but a few, are at heart foam. Literally foam; then covered in a wide range of spays, coatings, textures to replicate finishes and objects that are pleasing to the eye. The new Intelicam Foam Carving CNC machine with our bundled design and toolpath software can transform digital designs into tangible objects. It is a tool you won’t want to be without. This is a tremendous growth industry. We believe theming is only scratching the surface of its potential to beautify our surroundings! Now is the time to acquire the best tools at the best prices.
A few words about the Intelicam Foam Router solution:
The Intelicam foam router is an excellent tool for theming. It will do what you need it to do with speed, ease of use, and reliability. The managers of Intelicam have placed thousands of routers in over 60 countries. You will find that our solution provides everything you will require for 3D relief and full model routing in foam.
Here are some of the benefits: Our rotational axis does not require complicated setup. The entire axis is housed beneath the table top and is hooked up full time. To use the rotational axis you must simply remove the table top and everything is ready to go. Foam blocks of size 2m x 1.25m square, and weighing up to 55kgs are mounted to the rotational axis. The full size 1.25m square block can rotate freely within the table. This model has a Z-axis (up/down) total stroke of 1200mm. This is to allow you to machine to the middle point of the rotational axis and still provide clearance for the foam cutting tool. The gantry system is a clever design. We have kept the gantry height as low as possible to increase the rigidity of the system. The long Z-axis stroke is needed to achieve the depth of the rotational axis yet most of the cutting is done on the table surface using relief toolpathing (and slicing for thicker objects). So it is sensible to provide a shorter gantry height to provide great stability where you are doing most of your cutting. This is very important. This means that the system is also effective for machining harder material, like wood. The rotational axis eliminates the possibility of a vacuum hold down so physical clamps are used to hold material on the table. These clamps are designed for foam slabs and to quickly release foam slabs for a fast turnaround. The system also contains convenient options like an automatic tool height sensor and a full external control cabinet for housing the computer, servo driver cards and spare tools, and to keep these items clean from the foam dust. We do not supply any sprayer units as these are easy to come by and are usually bought regionally.
Servicing is important so we include spare electronics, bearings, pinions, and most other components. We also included cutting bits.
We have chosen machine control software, CADCAM (design and toolpath) software and CAM (toolpath) software for the router that is among the most sophisticated yet easy to learn on the planet. This software was created by the individuals who wrote the program for ArtCAM Pro, but they have significantly improved and simplified the workflow. It is designed for creating 3D reliefs out of 2D vector drawings and can toolpath full 3D (STL type) models. With the software are 6 hours of high quality training tutorials on video DVD. This means that as you replace workers the new ones have all the tools they need to get up and running using the software. It’s brilliant. For full 3D models you can take full 3D models and create a toolpath to machine them on the bed of the router. The system also come with 50 high quality 3D relief models. Of course you will be creating your own in time, but this allows you to have quality samples while training and discovering the capability of the system. To toolpath 3D models for the 4
th rotational axis we’ve packaged another remarkable toolpath software designed in the Netherlands. We provide the toolpath solution for full 3D model made from a scanner, or created in programs like Rhino, and we provide the tools for creating 3D relief models from 2D vectors and even photographs as part of the comprehensive solution.
Finally, we option for 5 and 10 day of onsite training (5 days if you already are familiar with CNC and 3D files, 10 days if you are new to it all). This will give plenty of time to setup and tune the machinery, then make your people familiar with the software and actually make a number of projects using the machinery and software while we are there. You won’t be an expert when we leave but you will be making products and have all the tools you require.
